2025 DIAMOND HOCKEY SUMMER SKILLS PROGRAM INFORMATION

WHO

Mite - Pro Level Players. ( Split into 3 Groups).

1st group (Build) targeting ages 6-7-8-9 years old. Mites / Squirts

2nd group (Develop) targeting ages 9-10-11-12 years old Squirts / Pee Wee

3rd group (Refine) targeting 13 years of age & older Bantam, Midgets, High School, College, Pro

*This Program is intended for players who have a strong DESIRE, DEDICATION, DETERMINATION and DISCIPLINE in continuing to Build, Develop & Refine their Foundational and Advance HOCKEY SKILLS, SMARTS, STRENGTH & SPEED!

Limited to maximum 20 Skaters (24 for Overspeed session's) / Group & 4 Goalies / Group.

*** Goalies are Free - no specific goalie instruction provided, private message Diamond Hockey to secure a Goalie spot.***

WHERE

Weekly Summer 3 Day Skills Clinics will be held at the Nicholas Sports Complex - Mount Prospect Ice Arena Center Rink and the (IBJI-HPI) IL Bone & Joint Institute - Health & Performance Institute Mount Prospect ( located directly across from the rink).

WHY - ON ICE

This is a Progressive Summer Curriculum. The focus of all these Summer Skills sessions will be on a Weekly Progression of Skating Development Themes.

Week 1 - Balance, Agility, Coordination and Edge Work. (Jun 10-11-12th) T-W-Th

Week 2 - Edge Work and Forward Strides. (Jun 17-18-19th) T-W-Th

Week 3 - Backwards Skating. (Jun 30, Jul 1 & 2 th) M-T-W

Week 4 - Turns and X Overs. (Jul 8-9-10th) T-W-Th

Week 5 - Transition Skating / Pivots and Mohawks. (Jul 15-16-17) T-W-Th

Weeks 6 - Acceleration-Over Speed and Conditioning - Try Out Prep (Aug 4-5-6) M-T-W

Within the framework of the weekly Skating Themes we will incorporate the following as determined by the strength of the groups.

1 Power Skating / Balance Edge Work / Dynamic Agility & Over Speed Skating.

2 Puck Control / Vision / Deceptive Stick Handling / Puck Protection & Reactive Training.

3 Focused Passing / Sharing of the Puck / Passing and Movement.

4 Shooting / Dekes / Tips, Deflections & Scoring.

5 Checking / Stick / Angling / Body Contact Confidence.

6 Small Area Games.

Using proven methods of development from resources such as Hockey Canada, USA Hockey, Ice Hockey Systems, Coaches Site and our Own Training Methods, in addition to using top of the line training aids, our goal is to TEACH, TRAIN and TRANSFORM any player to improve their Hockey Skills and Challenge them to be the best possible hockey player they aspire to be.

WHY - OFF ICE

We have partnered again with AJ Alfrey and his coaching staff at the IBJI-HPI - Mount Prospect Health and Performance Institute, collaborating on a weekly program to target these specific areas of hockey athletic development.

Off Ice will be incorporated Daily after On Ice Sessions for all our 2nd and 3rd Groups (Develop & Refine).
